Fearrington Village

2000 Fearrington Village Center, Pittsboro, NC 27312

Fearrington Village is located in Chatham County, just eight miles South of the college town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on a former dairy farm with pastures containing our beloved Belted Galloway cows. Fearrington is a planned community that is home to nearly 2,000 residents, including active retirees, young families and working professionals. The community started when R.B. Fitch and his late wife Jenny purchased the Fearrington farm in 1974. The first house in Fearrington Village was built by Fitch Creations, Inc. in the mid-1970s.

Offering diverse neighborhoods ranging from dramatic wooded estates to smaller-scale homes, all Fearrington homeowners benefit from the amenities of the Village Center. Fearrington’s Village Center was inspired by the English villages R.B. saw during his time in the Air Force.

Today, Fearrington Village offers award-winning accommodations at The Fearrington House Inn, fine dining at The Fearrington House Restaurant, along with casual dining at The Belted Goat and Roost. Fearrington has boutique shops, including Dovecote Style featuring apparel and accessories, NEST with all things for your home, and McIntrye’s Books, an independent bookstore celebrating its 29th anniversary, and a full-service spa. Also on property, you’ll find easy access to SunTrust Bank and the Village Beauty Salon.
